Another day
The cool weather has only been an added incentive to do nothing else, but snuggle under my soon-to-be-flattened-filled-with-duck-down duvet.
Just being all wrapped up and cocoon like, falling asleep to a lullably. I used to read of similar scenarios, where the person not only gets comfortable, but manages to sip on some hot delicious cocoa (its always cocoa or hot chocolate!). I tried that once, but could never put myself in the position that they seem to be able to magically fall into. Doubt I will try a hot drink in bed anytime soon. Yes, so sleep. Getting to the days where waking up is such a chore. Nothing much to look forward to, except to flip open my laptop, and start on my past year papers again. Yawns. Anyways, seeing how its a trend now...this is my take on Steve Irwin. I never particularly liked him, but I did find myself throughly amused when I decided to make an attempt in watching his movie on one of my Qantas flights back to Brisbane. I have to admit, I felt that he was mostly an annoying character, but somehow, oddly enough, I was annoyed yet intrigued by him, enough to watch most of the movie, and it baffles me how everynow and again, when he does come on television, instead of reflex action to flick to another channel...I stay on watching. I remember on occasions, where I actually thought of visiting The Australian Zoo, not to see the animals, but to see him! I wanted to find out for myself if he truly was in real life, how he was in the movies and on television shows. I guess I will never know for myself, but only to rely on the accurate accounts of the people paying tribute to him. Annoying was the word that I used to describe him, but now on reflecting on what has happend I can think of 2 better words: Passionate and consistent. He was ultimately passionate in what he did, and he was consistent in that, he 'remained in character' all the time...because that was who he was and not just a made up character. He's didnt seem like one who would care about what others thought, and just remained true to himself. It has been a tragedy, and a lump in my throat never fails to form, whenever I hear about his death on the news or radio. To one of Australia's great icons, adieu. |
