Cold and Tired

My first night shift in the birthing suite. Started at 1030pm, and its now 0734am as I type this little paragraph.

My shift aint suppose to end till 0800am...but I have been 'invited' to attend handover after...

Only got to witness 1 birth tonight, and so far, epidurals might be the best thing ever invented.

Im sleepy and cold. Should have listened to my gut instinct to bring a jumper. Had to keep standing and walking around the ward to keep myself awake and warm.

The warmth of the neonatal nursery drew me to the babies that laid in those plastic containers that gave them life.

So small and so beautiful.

Yawns.

Can't wait for this shift to be over, and I get to crawl into bed and whilst the rest of the world keeps moving on.
