Trephine

The following is a testimonial, written by a few medical friends for me, to be placed in our medical magazine 'Trephine':

Hailing from Singapore and coming to Brisbane via Melbourne, the first thing you notice about this young lady is her beautiful smile which, with her gentle manner, always wins patients and her fellow students over. On first impressions you might expect that Gwen has lead a fairly sheltered life perhaps being schooled in a convent or some other religious institution where she was protected from the outside world, but as you get to know her you realize there is a darker side, a much, much darker side. Gwen has been know to frequent some of the seedier venues around Brisbane, perhaps this is just a result of spending 3 long years in Melbourne where she did her undergraduate degree or perhaps it is just to try and save some lost souls. Gwen enjoys her sleep, and when she comes to lectures, it is not unusual to see her dozing off. This is most likely as a result of her long nights out at the above mentioned venues saving souls (as she puts it). Gwen has become know though out the medical fraternity not for her skill as a clinician but for the strange spider bites that she mysteriously acquires, some suspect that this too is related to the seedy venues that she frequents but the debate on that one may never be resolved. She is also known for her alcohol intolerance which makes her the perfect date. Gwen is a very generous person who is always helping a friend out with something. We know that she will make a fantastic doctor one day.
