Jay Chou, Wang Li Hong, Alex Toh, Daniel Chan, David Tao, Faye Wong, Kit Chan, just to name a few.

I have not been living under a rock for the past few years of my life. I have heard of them, but that’s about it. The most that I have heard about any of listed above was Jay Chou, and it came in the form of a previous Taiwanese tenant back in Singapore. She just came back from his concert, and was raving about his musical talents, about how good his performance was, about how totally cute he was…yes, especially about how gorgeous looking he was. She was raving about him so much that I begin to wonder, was it his music, or was it him? Hmm….

Well, I just recently got reacquainted with this previously unknown human being (plus another one or two) in my life, during my trip down to Melbourne.

Who can ignore the sudden silence, filled with anticipation, followed by the next sound, that we hear...the husky crooning emanating from the direction of the driver’s seat, who daringly (but outstandingly of course) competed with the loudspeakers that boomed Jay Chou’s personal bests? Yes, he (not Jay) was in a league of his own. He even had a few choice moves to add to the vocal talent, almost leading me to think that I was having a private performance with Jay...maybe if he had included the shirt-ripping-off-move-as-fans(me)-screamed, it would have been just as good as the real thing.

Oh yes, Jay Chou.

Now I have got him everyday, along with the likes of another cute dude, Wang Li Hong. What I can remember about the latter was that he had this really cool accent, seeing how he was brought up in the states, and boy, could he play the violin…and yes, he was cute.

Oh dear...now I see where my Taiwanese tenant was coming from. No! It’s the music, it’s the voice!

Thanks Joe, for helping me increase my musical collection, and hopefully, the final outcome from your contribution, would see to my improvement in my mandarin speaking capabilities. We shall have to have another go at a conversation with the car mechanic.

Time for another rendition of Wang Li Hong’s, Wei Yi...
